What is a safety code?

You have a unique safety code with each person you’re connected to on Air. Comparing it with theirs confirms that you’re talking to the right person and that nobody is intercepting your end-to-end encrypted messages.

Compare a safety code

1. Open the person’s profile. In a 1:1 chat, select their name at the top. In a group chat, select their name or profile picture next to one of their messages.
2. Select Safety code.
3. Compare it with the code on their device, in person or on a call. Don’t send codes in Air.

If the codes match, you’re talking to the right person.
